Colorado Motorcycle Academy is dedicated to bringing quality training to aspiring and advanced riders alike. Whether you are interested in being a casual motorcyclist or a high-speed track rider, we have the tools to help you be knowledgeable and safe.

Riding Courses

Starting the Ride

Our basic courses are for those who have never ridden a motorcycle before, have less than approximately 40 total hours of riding, or haven’t seen the seat in a while and want a refresher. These courses are perfect for beginners to learn how to be safe on the road while riding. Some of the fundamental topics covered are basic controls, proper gear and apparel, avoiding and handling dangerous situations, and riding in challenging elements.

Continuing the Ride

Our intermediate courses are meant for those who have been riding for some time and are seeking extra training. These courses will go into more depth on rider safety, road responsibility, maneuvering, part failure, lane positioning, and much more. Even if you have been riding a motorcycle for many years, these courses are sure to teach you something new.

Mastering the Ride

Our advanced courses are for those who are ready to test the limits of their motorcycle riding with professional riding instructors. We will train you on high-speed maneuvers, swerving, acceleration and stopping, and skilled handling of your bike on different surfaces. These courses are only for those who are already very experienced at high-speed biking.

At Colorado Motorcycle Academy you fill find…

The student is our number one priority at all times.

We not only want to get to know you, why you ride or want to ride, and your goals. We also recognize that every person learns differently, has a different experience, background, and goals. Our coaching in the classroom and on the range, along with our services outside of class, prioritizes communication, listening, and patience. We want to make sure all of your questions are answered and that we have done everything we can to meet your needs with a positive and understanding attitude.

A safe, positive, and fun learning environment.

Your safety is the top priority at all times and the reason CMA was born – to do everything in our power to give people the proper skills and education to keep them as safe as possible on the road. Of course, we believe that riding a motorcycle is one of the best, most fun things to do in life! So we always have fun at CMA and want to spread the joy of riding with as many people as we can. That means keeping people safe during class, as well as providing the proper safety knowledge needed to take with you to the road.

We use the best and most current curriculum available.

CMA teaches the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum. The MSF is the internationally recognized developer of the comprehensive, research-based, Rider Education and Training System. We do not charge for retakes.

You are not guaranteed to pass the class on your first attempt. We understand everyone learns differently, and sometimes it takes more than one class to gain the skills to pass the riding evaluation at the end of class and keep you safe on the road. We have seen and learned different styles of training, and we truly believe that the MSF BasicRiderCourse is the best way to learn the skills to ride. We will work with you as long as it takes for you to achieve your goals.

Once a student, always a student.

When you take a course at CMA, you can come back to retake the course any time you’d like. We encourage students to return for a refresher whenever they feel it’s needed. We want you to feel comfortable and confident at all times when riding your motorcycle. Please note this is on a space available basis.

No cancellations due to low enrollment.

Even if there are only two students, we will still have class as scheduled.

We offer a 10% discount to emergency service personnel and veterans.

We are conveniently located at Flatirons Crossing.

CMA is centrally located at FlatIrons Crossing, less than 30 minutes from Boulder, Longmont, Denver, and surrounding areas, and less than an hour from Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, and surrounding areas. We care abut our community.

TESTIMONIALS

“Shaundell Ross was an awesome coach to have for my MSF course. His years of knowledge and enthusiasm for riding motorcycles really showed when he instructed class. He actively engaged with me during the course, and was able to effectively show me techniques to improve my handling of the bike. In addition, Shaundell gave me some really helpful tips that I have been able to use as a new rider, all the way up to my current state as an amateur motorcycle racer. I’m still using his riding techniques to this day. I can’t recommend him highly enough!”
-Edward Refvem

“Shaundell was my rider coach for a basic rider course some time ago. I had never ridden a motorcycle but his teaching style made the course relaxed, fun, but serious when it needed to be. He knew when to push and when to give me time to figure things out on my own, as allowed by time. He was always completely honest about your skills and made safer riders because of it. His passion for the sport is evident in everything he does and he doesn’t give up on anyone who wants to learn. Even when class was done he has consistently made himself available to work with past students to help them with their skills. He’s an amazing instructor who knows how to teach and I’d advise anyone to take his classes.”
-Cassie Porter

“(Shaundell) helped my dream come true. Riding a motorcycle was a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I didn’t want to go against my parents will, so it took me years to finally decided to ride. I came to Shaundell having no experience with a motorcycle. He taught me to ride from scratch; literally from how to start the motorcycle. I was excited and scared, and he made the learning experience fun, comfortable, and encouraging. He is not only a great instructor, he is a great rider and most responsible adviser. His concerns and advise have been very valuable since I started riding. He is my absolute go to person every time I want to step up a level of my riding skill. With his help, in one year I’m riding on the street, have outgrown my beginner street bike, and moving into dirt biking as well. I feel extremely lucky to have him as my instructor and continue to enjoy riding.”
